Biography
Stephan Picard is one of the most influential violinists and educators of his generation. As a professor at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin, he has been guiding young musicians on their path to artistic independence for decades. His international concert career as a soloist and chamber musician has taken him to prestigious venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Many of his students are now making their own mark on the music world.

Teaching
For Stephan Picard, teaching means asking questions—and finding his own answers. His work aims to guide students to the point where they can eventually continue on their artistic path without guidance.

Projects
In his projects, Stephan Picard develops unique concert formats that go beyond the traditional framework. At the heart of his work is “musical thought theater”—a fusion of chamber music, spoken word, and theatrical concepts that places works within a new narrative context. This approach gives rise to programs that blend concert and stage into a single, immersive experience.
